Thank you very much for your efforts and sharing.

Getting closer - I now get solid blue/green LED and the Rockchip splash screen but android never boots.

@ Tungmeister , are you still struggling to boot from emmc? I was having that issue and I now solved it by flashing a new SPI loader as per explained in the following link

Rock5/install/spi - Radxa Wiki

This image was a disappointment though, as when trying to side load my favorite apps they fail (I believe it is because this image is based on an old android version - 5.1?)

@rott3 I’m using NVME not EMMC

Read the link I mentioned above. You also need to flash a new SPI bootloader to boot from NVME. Just out of curiosity, why boot from nvme and not from emmc?

The required SPI is included in thc013’s latest release. I’m using NVME because I’ve got a 256GB one spare and don’t have an EMMC.

lol cant you read the spi needed for that android image is included no need for bad spi images

and got even emmc+nvme combined images

and works nice side loading and adding apk’s

dont hang usb drives fan or such that will help , 5b booting draws some more power

but for me it boots 8 of 10 times ,

wich splash screen the uboot or the kernel with dready ?

i got it working on a xpg 256gb with leds

I did tried to flash the spi + image in maskrom mode and that never worked, hence why I flashed a different spi.

As per side loading the apps, can you please test the “all4” app and let me know if you have it working?

that is why added a gpt image to flash the nvme with another tool , spi just flash thats is no issue .

Ok. Thanks for your help. Would you please try and side load the “all4” app and let me know what your results are.

just the uboot logo, doesn’t seem to access the NVME

it does acces the nvme  , no nvme no logo

wich power supply your using or your setup what is attached ?

i got it booting so it must be close to figure out why yours wont .

you wanted sd/emmc with boot and kernel and on nvme the rest of android

works just as fast as running it with spi boot only now the kernel kicks the nvme in instead of the spi bootloader.
