Hi, is it possible to somehow use one of the drives to hold Raspbian and ditch the SD card totally?
I’m trying numerous approaches so just would like to know if its even possible as its from “normal” USB drives or not due to nature of HAT.

Not possible. The driver’s for the hat aren’t loaded until Raspbian is already booted. They aren’t even seen by the system until then

In theory it’s possible. Maybe this can be implemented in the next SATA HAT hardware revision.
