[ROM] Rock5A/B AndroidTV 12 by mo123

@artem20-100
Not supported on any Radxa Android 12 firmware.
Best will be to get a cheap Amlogic device or set the resolution to 3840x2160@120hz on a supported tv.

Appreciate this mo, Iā€™ll give that a try. Does that persist past reboot?

Iā€™m finding that I have to restart the device between each use. If I leave it running in between uses, when I come back to use it the display signal will cut in and out until the device is rebooted.

Found that the display issues on this build go a bit further. HEVC media that previously played fine now fails spectacularly - neon greens and picks, static images etc. Then screen flickering that persists across the rest of the UI until the device is rebooted. Doesnā€™t matter if it is 4k or 1080p, the codec kills the device.

@uninvitedguest Yes, will persist after a reboot.
Can you post a short HEVC sample video with problems?
Any of the Kodi videos that give a problem?

Hi may I ask for the password ? Would like to see if I can get it going on another rk3588 device.

@Musti159 The firmware is strictly for Rock5 devices.

V1.10 24-01-2024
Only supports EMMC, SDCard
mo123 please let me know are you going to make NVMe m2 ssd support for new release ?

@sergsh77 Hi, I did make an nvme firmware but users reported it didnā€™t flash, only old nvme firmware boots.
Radxa confirmed there was a bug from new Rockchip code.
Iā€™m waiting about 2 months for a solution.

Does Bluetooth (Radxa A8) work on the current Rock 5A image (1.7c)?

@mo123 thanks for the rt8522be support, i just installed wifi module advertised to work on orange pi5 and it works out of the box. save me tons of money lol (purchased less then 4usd)

also i noticed that the v1.10 rom might not boot-able on UHS-1 card like sandisk extreme. at least its works fine on sdhc card

@zerorating Iā€™ll check if the speed can be lowered, perhaps it gets detected then.

@incognito I will release Rock5A v1.10 firmware later this week.
Bluetooth should work on the existing image I think.

@mo123 please ignore the sd card boot issue that i mentioned, it probably just bad hdmi cable that causing the blank display.

No,bluetooth not working in 1.7v,only with 1.10v works great.

Is this a private build? And what kernel is it based on? 5.10 or 6.1?

Yes i think is privat,5.10 Kernel.

I tested it with HDR 10-bit HEVC 59.94fps (in MP4, Camp by Sony) and it caused the playback issue with wonky colours, and then constant screen flickering until restarted.

As I noted above, if the TV screen is turned off and on while the device is running the screen will flicker until restarted again.

@uninvitedguest
What firmware are you using, video player apps?
Model of tv? Using HDMI 2.1 cables and turned enhanced color options on, on the tv?
Does the video switch to HDR mode, Kodi detects in System Info a HDR10 capable display?
Did you try another HDMI port?

Can you root with Magisk and post a logcat perhaps?

I didnā€™t experience these problems.
On my pc the video plays as you describe but it doesnā€™t support HDR.

Please could i get the password? would like to test for 4k60 playback.
Many thanks
