[ROM] ROCK 5B Android 12.1 rkr10 GoogleTV

No, when connected to the fan headers. And yeah, I’m not suggesting running a python script on android but one could just modify the values in the PWM files.

so when the answer is no , and he ask to run it all the time what is then the solution ?

and the values are in the dts

I didn’t know they were in the dts, I assumed they were in /dev/whatever/pwm_stuff like on Linux.

@thc013 sorry to ask again but any chance of NVME boot or should I Just buy an emmc card?

What is the difference between atv and gtv? What is the specific performance of 5B?

@thc013 so I tried your image.
Might I suggest you clean your first post better a little ?

I dont know which one is what and whats the latest u got two links there one has gpt I guess google tv the other upgrade is for emmc install and the .bin to fix the partitions via rkdevtool install Im guessing which then needs to be reflashed for another OS if needed be.
Idk if you made a google tv image or a tablet android os image… idk… whats the difference between files.
Edit: your second link from the main post is broken and searching comments I see you made some .7z files for 4k 1080p etc but… some context description on what is what I mean… if you want of course…

Anyway the non requested feedback from the noob:
Amazing job u got it.
However my fan works like it had a fly stuck to it … barely moves or tries to work broken… idk whats with the dying sound the board gives when running Android… its like something is making some coil noise.

Despite that the Android TV boots runs perfect and for my surprise Geforce Now Works with MOUSE support.
I still havent tried Diablo Immortal… I didnt wanted to keep using this to that point of downloading it… passing apk installing doing its magic to work… etc…

Overall its neat for Android fan users … and emulators and all that. Good job.

For me its not my OS. If I wanted google TV I would just buy another Google Chromecast which I have 5 or so …

For me Rock 5B is for ChromeOS or Armbian Desktop Mode (The best of both Worlds). Im just waiting on some… OpenFyde magic if it ever happens if not … well Armbian will be.

Muito Obrigado, Amigo.

Hi Thc013 ,
Can you guide me how to build with google assistant , i tried to build RadaxRock5b_box but its UI only RKleanback launcher, without googleTV or google assitant ?

Thanks for your sharing!
I found that images you shared cannot coexsist with EMMC. It is better if your image can coexist with EMMC.

What I mean is the image I flashed into TF card and it cannot boot if I have EMMC installed.
The official Android image from Radxa can do that. I can insert TF card and boot from TF rather than EMMC without remove EMMC storage. This is good for testing different Android images.

What am I doing wrong? Image written to SD does not boot https://pastebin.com/WPvLWvej

Has the lack of a system file browser issue been fixed?

sure there is none in atv or gtv

I’m talking about the system file browser, not a standard file browser app. The system file browser allows for selecting external storage to give access to other apps. Last I checked, your image does not include this at all. I am curious if you have fixed that.

There is none and there will be none. Not on android 12+ that’s why I prefer tablet builds.

If the developer/builder of this android image doesn’t even think such a thing exists, it would probably be best to use someone else’s android image.

Please give me the link to such image. I’m really curious.

so you found a special one then  i wonder wich one ? got them all i think :upside_down_face:

and as you know filemanager is just not default in atv or gtv there you go south .

and permission is just in settings so what your talking file-manager or permissions ?

so your proberley just trying to smarttalk , so as long no image not true !

And go ahead it is free what you use , i know from what source i build and where my apk’s comes from and what i added or left out (nothing if possible) .and good luck with the other builds

i have a image to you could try )

first flash the android from raxda wich boots from spi-nvme

and after that flash this image

i not yet included the spi image that is why you have to flash the spi image from raxda android image first
