perhaps something with HVC1 ?
[ROM] ROCK 5B Android 12.1 rkr10 GoogleTV
playable file were HVC1 too
I remember trying to play a 20 minute video and also a 2 hour film. Will try to find out the encoder settings.
local video through my network. I have a server for movie and tv shows. i used kodi for both. streaming off internet and local. no issues
Which android version are you using with kodi 19.5?
Can you also try playing the same files with VLC and MX player?
I did some investigation. So far it seems that videos encoded by x265 but not in HDR have this error and those in HDR are fine.
Will post codec settings later.
However, this is broken by the fact that Big Buck Bunny x265 samples: https://test-videos.co.uk/bigbuckbunny/mp4-h265 work OK.
All samples from here: https://filesamples.com/formats/hevc also work.
just wondering how we could get radxa representative attention on this? it seems to be something need to be address by rockchip (not sure if this is impacting khadas edge2 and the other)
ill give it a shot tonight. ill let you know.
ehh this is not a official image .
if the same is on a “official image of raxda” you can inform them
and nice you narrow it down
same here

i put H.265 HEVC in a mkv container and it played fine. no issues.
i think mkv downgrades to H.264. i could be wrong.
MKV (Matroska) ](https://www.winxdvd.com/convert-mkv-video/mkv.htm) is an open source free container format that can have Selectable subtitle/audio/video streams, Chapter entries, Full metadata (tags), Menus (like DVDs have), etc. The file extension of Matroska video is .mkv. It’s able to contain video streams in different codecs, including H.265/HEVC, H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 (A)SP, VC-1/WMV, Real Video, Theora, Microsoft MPEG4 V2, VP8, VP9, MVC.
Image works, boots, wifi is a hit or miss, said invalid password on my main network, connected to another one fine. using radxa a8
One big issue though, hdmi audio does not work. I don’t know if I need to tweak something or what, but I have no sound.
And can you please include the aosp file manager or something that’s built into android? Standard features such as copy and paste or choosing a directory from an app do not work because this was not built into the image. MiXplorer can’t even copy and paste files because of this.
file mamager is diffrent in atv so aosp file manager wont work
i am more surprised you got wifi working
mixpolorer copy paste just fine
well that didnt work the link
Cant get to boot. sits at the Androidtv logo. Tried the update and gpt on Emmc.
also tried sdcard. not booting either.
Yeah I’m sure it’s different, if it is actually built with it, but this lacks any of the file management features. Copy and paste on MiXplorer gave me No app found that can do this or something along those lines. It was the same error I got from other apps trying to access folders, no app was found to list the directories to give permissions.
And I didn’t do anything for wifi, I just installed it and it recognized it from the initial setup. It’s buggy though, both my networks are 2.4GHz but it would only connect to one of them. The other one was saying invalid password, but it was not invalid, I’ve been using the same wifi password for like 15 years.
thnx for the info
yeah i noticed
do you have serial ?
i almost sure it hangs in a loop with cannot write a power state
@knuxyl mixplorer does copy paste and apps also no issue , only some emulators dont like atv or gtv
it might work for you but it doesnt for me.
Why this image is not in this list?
Rock5/downloads - Radxa Wiki
And is there a way to use any of the current Radxa Android images with MIPI screen?
Is there something like this for Android ?

Or may be do some configuration and rebuild?
