Raxda 5b with 32 Gb is a scam or not?

I have found that its possible to buy Rock5b with 32GB ram instead of 16, is it a scam?

Probably not… but from that page… who knows…

32 Gb… no official raxda pages states that they have more than 16Gb

It’s not a scam. Arace is an official distributor. Radxa documentation is out of date, however.

32GB version is not impossible, so far it was just too expensive to offer, but recently something have changed and there are available new chips with better prices. Most of RK3588 boards gained such version.
Radxa has on their site some images with Rock 5B 24GB option as well, this may be something in between and just yet another choice (so far nobody has that one to offer).

32GB is possible now with high density ram chip, one single chip 16GB density.

I can think of a number of applications at my work, connected to bioinformatics. It can be a super low power workstation or even part of a cluster. 32 GB of RAM is plenty.

That is right!
There are few groups of interests, those who are DIY makers and don’t care that much about resources and others who looks for low power computers. That group would be pleased to get as much RAM as its possible. For now I have only three x86 nodes on my cluster that have 64GB of RAM, each uses more energy than 4x rock5b with nvme. With 32GB option I would be able to replace then with Rock5B and probably power consumption will be sliced.
So hey, it’s just another great option and we should be happy that there is a choice :slight_smile: You can still get lower RAM option if You need that one @boogiepop :slight_smile:

Arace just run out of stock for 5a and 5b when I just wanted to tried to get 32GB version, hopefully we will see them somewhere else, okdo is still sleeping this year, no bf or halloween promo like last year :confused:

Nice, thanks for the info! Even if the site said it was in stock my 32gb 5b hasn’t been shipped yet. The site was updated and now says something with delays. I’m pretty sure I won’t get it in 2023 :frowning:

glad to see units shipped as my orders for 16GB 5A & 5B are delayed as waiting for new stock despite being early purchases and mixed news that one was shipping soon but now they’ve sold out of accessories which sucks?

also no update on my Zero 3W as again early purchase that has yet to ship leading me to suspect I won’t see anything arrive until Q2,2024 which is a huge disappointment and I may just cancel the orders and look elsewhere…

Got my shipping confirmation today (ordered 22nd of November…) for a Rock 5B with 8GB Ram from arace but it looks like the emmc module I also selected isn’t gonna be in the same package.

If the price difference wasn’t so big I wouldn’t have considered - now I‘m just happy if I receive it hopefully in January.
