I bought a Rock 5c, Penta Hat and a 36W 12v PSU, all from the Radxa store on aliexpress.
Initially this was all working fine with armbian, but after plugging in a fan header to the molex plug while it was running, all lights shut off.
I quickly disconnected the power, then noticed that the underside of the molex plug is insanely close to the metal usb header enclosure of the rock-5c and has absolutely no protection, I think I may have bridged that connection while pushing a plug in.
The connector I plugged in is just a simple pwm header that was wired to 12v and gnd on the molex plug. It had no fan connected at the time.
I’ve since put some kapton tape on the usb enclosure, but the damage is done. It appears the drives I had in the hat are all dead. Dmesg logs the following whenever one is connected, but other drives work fine.

Are there going to be any way to recover these?
These are all good quality 1.2TB Intel S3510s, so I’m pretty peeved that this appears to have killed them.
