Maskrom not working, what am I doing wrong?

Just flashed my nvme with debian and noticed I had to also flash the SPI so that it will boot from the NVME ssd instead of using a SD card.

I’ve followed the instructions on the wiki guide to turn on MaskRom mode.
I have the silver button revision (next to the fan power connector)

I do the following steps:

  1. Hold down the Maskrom button
  2. Plug in the USB Type C cable for PD (using a Anker 4 port USB 3.0 wall charger which is plugged into a extension cord)
  3. Release the pressed down Maskrom button

I then open up the RKDevTool v2.96 and then am met with the “No Devices Found” message.
I’ve tried doing this several times to no such avail.

So I was wondering am I doing everything right or am I missing something or have I potentially got a defective board?

If its the latter, how soon could I get a replacement as I have a ongoing project that requires these boards ASAP for some computer vision software I’m having desisgned?

Just hold maskrom button and connect usb-c on rock5 to usb-c on computer. Make sure that it’s data cable with usb-c on both sides (those are less problematic). Maybe try on different port/computer. Board is probably ok.

Thank you solved this instantly, I wish it would say plug the cable into the computer and not to a wall charger.
