When will new stock of Orion O6N be available?

We are manufacturing another batch of O6N, the DRAM price now increased a lot.

Thanks. Any idea about the potential delivery timeline?

There will be a batch next week, pay attention to the e-commercial platform you want to buy from, chat with the sales people of the e-commercial platform to reserve one.

Hello,

I have been interested in the O6N since the previous batch, but between one cancelled order and another that got lost on the way to my home, I still have not moved beyond theory.

Regardless of this situation, this price increase is difficult to justify while I have been waiting for months for memory sockets for memory modules.

I understand that soldered memory offers HW and FW integration advantages for you, but I am reluctant to pay beyond its fair price for this approach that makes us vulnerable to shortages, economic fluctuations, and obsolescence.

Although certainly excellent in the current version, have you made improvements to the next version to offset the increased cost of soldered memory modules?

Do you nevertheless plan to offer, for learning, experimentation, and development projects, an economical version with less RAM?
These use cases, although paradoxical given the SoC’s capabilities, do not necessarily require much memory.

Best regards

@TKaizer : Your reasoning is out of scope and doesn’t reflect modern standards. From my perspective, a price increase requires a counterpart (even a symbolic one). Without it, it doesn’t make sense.

Why is anyone waiting for something that will never happen? Radxa designs/assembles PCBs but does not design SoCs. And if the SoC’s memory controller doesn’t support socketed RAM then you can combine this SoC only with soldered RAM. Easy as that.

Only ‘server-grade’ ARM CPUs or those targeting network appliances support DIMMs (requires more data lines to access the SPD EEPROMs on the RAM modules) and those have in common being that expensive that no SBC manufacturer can’t use them since their customers want it cheap.
