Using Raspberry Pi cameras with the 5C

I’ve just noticed that there’s an overlay for RPi cameras in one of the newest images for the 5C.
Is it a mistake or does this mean an RPi camera can be or will be possible to use with the 5C?
I especially have the camera v2 in mind.

And correct me if I’m wrong but the 5C has a 31-pin FPC connector and Pi cameras have a 15 pin (also with different mechanical dimensions)… So I’m also wondering how to connect them if it’s possible at all.

Radxa sells an FPC for this case.

Oh, gee… I’m facepalming myself right now.
But the name suggested it’s only for their own “8M 219” module, so I got confused.

Thanks.

edit: Dang it… Unavailable on Arace and shipping on AliExpress costs 25$ ;-;

I have not tested this fpc yet, but hopefully, I will try this weekend.

Update: I can confirm that the FPC cable works but the sensor faces the opposite side (from the Radxa sensor) and it seems i need to downgrade 3A server v6 to version 5 for the iqfile to work.

I’ve finally gotten around to testing the cameras myself, but the FPC cables for the 5 series are currently either out of stock or cost a fortune to ship… I have one Radxa 8M 219 on hand, so I decided to see if the included cable fits. Long story short - it doesn’t, it’s just a Raspberry Pi cable.

It’s kinda funny. I buy a Radxa camera, but it can’t be plugged into any Radxa boards out of the box…
Not a big deal of course, but quite surprising.

edit: I plugged in the 4K camera to make sure I’ll be able to use a camera in my project, but it seems there’s issues with that as well…
