Upside-down, home-made thermal solution

I’m seeing several threads on heat sinks and cases, so here’s my two pennies worth. Original heat sink and 3D printer not required.

The top was a plastic container that I received with AA batteries. By moving the WiFi antenna to a different position you could also mount a second fan.

With the fan powered from a 5V pin (it also works with 3.3V), Windows 10 idles at 37-38 C (Core max, as measured by HwInfo). With CPU-Z stress it goes to 54 C; if I add a small (300x500) Fur Mark GPU stress, it stabilizes at 75 C.

Now, if only I had a GPIO library to use the other GPIO pins…

That is very cool. What OS are you using?

Windows 10, 20H2.

The top will also house the RTC battery, which otherwise would hang loose.
