UPS HAT (B): designed for raspberry, modded for rock 5b

A few days ago a power line outage in my city damaged the nvme storage.

I wasn’t prepared for this!

After some research I bought an ups hat (b) [overcharge/discharge protection, over current protection, short circuit protection, and reverse protection, along with the equalizing charge feature] designed for raspberry but suitably modified for rock 5b.

My previous configuration included the metal case, now I opted for the acrylic one and this is the result:

Looks dope and Here I am still… feeling uncomfortable without a proper case to protect my Rock 5A…

The Argon40 ONE V.2 (with or without SATA/NVME) fits without modification. The heat sink is not at the right place, but touches the CPU, probably it is possible to improve it. So far, I have just a heat pad. I’ve ported the the fan control to libmraa, so power button and fan control works. You have access to the GPIO pins and two full-size HDMI ports. I think there is even room for the NVME adapter to replace the USB adapter board of the M2, I’ waiting for it to test. Otherwise the connection using USB3 works fine. What I’m not able so far is to boot from USB, but theoretically u-boot seems to support it. The case has also room for a RTC, I have a DS3231 inside.

Could you send some more images please?

More images of what? This is the side of ARGON40, with several images of the shell. You could still buy it at several places, just make sure to buy the right bottom, i.e. for SSDs the NVME variant makes more sense, as it is hard to find such with a SATA interface.
