Stuck on initramfs

Device Background

  • Board : Radxa ROCK 3A
  • Storage :
    • Initially booted from SD Card (Armbian).
    • Used Penta SATA HAT for SSD SATA (Slot 1).
    • Attempted to migrate boot to SATA SSD via armbian-install (failed).
  • OS : OpenMediaVault (OMV) + Armbian.

Issue Timeline

  1. Failed SSD SATA Installation :
  • Tried installing Armbian to SATA SSD using armbian-install → consistently failed.
  • System suddenly powered off during Emby Server installation .
  1. Complete Boot Failure :
  • After the failure, the board would not boot at all in these scenarios:
    • SD Card alone (no SSD attached).
    • SATA SSD alone (no SD card).
  • No display output or boot indicators in either case.
  1. Partial Recovery Attempt :
  • Connected SD Card (Armbian) + SATA SSD (via USB-to-SATA adapter) → system booted once.
  • After reboot , stuck at initramfs with error:
