...SSD or only NVME?

Hi,
I’m wondering if the Rock5B supports classic older SSD drives or only more recent NVME type Drives on its M.2 slot ?

I tried a 256gb transcend m.sata SSD, that worked. I recommend nvme because of the performance still

or maybe XFS is not recognized as an FS while trying to share a disk
(thought it seems to be okay i the docs)

Yes Sir. I do the windows method but linux ninjas do the easy wey: https://wiki.radxa.com/Rock5/install/spi#Advanced_.28external.29_method Either way works… and I must say… I did it yesterday and so far so good … but I did in the past and idk what triggers the hanging but this only fixes it ‘temporarly’ idk… But do try it and u will notice it will reboot fine.

Uuuuh, thanks for the post, yeah…made me realize that its probably my dumb voltage 5V powering
***likely requires a 12V minimum 12V for that hungry SSDs !
Will remove the XFS/EXT4 doubt and go for a 12Volt fishing …somewhere.
