...SSD or only NVME?

Hi,
I’m wondering if the Rock5B supports classic older SSD drives or only more recent NVME type Drives on its M.2 slot ?
Thank you for your reply,
/Terii

I tried a 256gb transcend m.sata SSD, that worked. I recommend nvme because of the performance still

thanks a lot for this Jhon…hmmm…weird, I couldn’t make my SSD to be recognized but will try again still… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

or maybe XFS is not recognized as an FS while trying to share a disk
(thought it seems to be okay i the docs)

you should look at this post if you want to run nvme only:

Uuuuh, thanks for the post, yeah…made me realize that its probably my dumb voltage 5V powering
***likely requires a 12V minimum 12V for that hungry SSDs !
Will remove the XFS/EXT4 doubt and go for a 12Volt fishing …somewhere.
