Solder your own eMMC module

I have the non eMMC X4 and I notice theres a blank spot for the eMMC module on the board.

Would it be possible to solder on the emmc module and would it be recognized ? Or are more components needed ?

Yes, just solder a module and it should work

Would this also work on a X2L?
I’ve recently bought a X2L board but mine came without the EMMC chip. It seems like the peripheral passive components are all in place already.
Seems like it just have to be a Foresee or Samsung EMMC 5.1 chip?
Has anyone tried something that on the X2L?
