Not sure what is the “canonical way” to set maximum cpu frequency… just doing it in the following way…
The lscpu utility does NOT show the new value… perhaps there are more settings to do… ??
I checked with a MHz frequency “calculator”, it shows the (new) value…

That’s the proper way to do it; any fancy graphical utilities are doing exactly this behind the curtain. (Do be sure you set it for every core though!)

This is actually not needed and further not even possible as all cores share the same OPP and cpufreq policy
