RTC time not working on Rock 3A

Hi Team,

I am working on Rock 3 A (8 GB and 128 GB) Ubuntu 20.04 LTS OS (rock-3a-ubuntu-focal-server-arm64-20220601-1033-gpt.img.xz). I’m facing some issues with RTC.

Initially I connected using POE with internet and date, time has been fetched automatically. Later I connected the RTC battery on the module and disconnected the internet connection. It was working good only, till I reboot the device. Once I rebooted without internet, date and time changing to old. I am checking “timedatectl” to check these details.

Could you please help me with this issue?
Thanks in advance.

Here is advice:

@dominik As mentioned, I tried. But its not detected.

Here is my /boot/uEnv.txt

Should I have to add any additional overlays on that?

If you don’t have a reason to stick to a particular version, I recommend trying a slightly more recent version.

At least the device tree of the version you presented (rock-3a-ubuntu-focal-server-arm64-20220601-1033-gpt.img.xz) does not contain any mention of hym8563(rtc).

As an example, a more recent version (rock-3a-ubuntu-focal-server-arm64-20221101-0219-gpt.img.xz) contains mentions of hym8563.

I’m not sure if this version works as you expect, but at least it should be detected at the device detection level. ("# dmesg | grep rtc")
