[ROM] Rock5A/B AndroidTV 12 by mo123

@mo123, can you share the latest password please?

@mo123 May I have the rock5b_atv_12_v1.10_by_mo123.7z password please?

Thank Youā€¦best rock5 rom for android (and top 3 overall)ā€¦nice touch adding the polite ā€˜erasingā€™ boot screen so it doesnā€™t just look like the rock 5 is stuck in a boot loop.

Hey @mo123 any news on rebuilding the firmware for this one here? Iā€™m noticing a few problems every so often with connection, but mostly not having HDMI audio at all. Cheers.

mo123,
Are you open to guiding me through installation of AndroidTV on OrangePI 5 Plus 32GB to boot from NVMe for a fee?
Please contact me at my username @att.net.
Best regards,
Larry

@LDighera Did you try this video?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bet_plMIS30&ab_channel=leepspvideo

Thank you for the assistance. The video was helpful.

I attempted to flash OrangePi5Plus_RK3588_Android12_lcd_spi-nvme_v1.0.2.img (Dated: October 18, 2023) to a 1TB NVMe SSD, with this output from RKDevTool.exe:

Download Boot Start
Download Boot Success
Wait For Maskrom Start
[At this point, RKDevTool reported: No Devices Found.]
Wait For Maskrom Fail
[At this point, RKDevTool immediately reported: Found One MASKROM Device.]

I powered the OPi5+ off, and then attempted to boot without success.

At this point, Iā€™m at a loss as to how to proceed to install a usable Android system on my OPi5+.

How does RKDevTool know which medium (eMMC, SD, NVMe) to write?

I removed the 256GB eMMC module, and ran RKDevTool with this image mo123_AndroidTV_Orange5Plus-EMMC-SD_PW=Orange-Pi-5P-8876_OP5P-NVME_ATV_12_by_mo123, and RKDevTool reported:

Download Boot Start
Download Boot Success
Wait For Maskrom Start
Wait For Maskrom Success
Downloading SPINOR firmware
Test Device Start
Test Device Success
Check Chip Start
Check Chip Success
Get FlashInfo Start
Get FlashInfo Success
Prepare IDB Start
Prepare IDB Success
Download Firmware Start
Download Firmware (100%)ā€¦
Download Firmware Success
Wait For Loader Start
Wait For Loader Fail

It still wonā€™t boot.

Iā€™ve spent day after day banging my head against this issue without success. ā€¦

Thank you again for your kind assistance.

Larry

PS:

The long file names, multiple levels of nested zip-in-a-zip archives, and multiple compression formats (gzip, 7zip, zip, ā€¦), and tar packages containing more zips and tars and multiple images, as well as the multiple storage media (eMMC, SD, NVMe) creates unacceptable confusion. Is OrangePi deliberately sabotaging successful firmware loading? :frowning: It really casts a shadow on their professionality. Somebody should point this out to them ā€¦

After writing the message above, I came across this page: http://www.orangepi.org/orangepiwiki/index.php?title=Orange_Pi_5_Plus&oldid=3628

With this information, I will proceed.

Iā€™ve successfully installed openfyde on NVMe SSD, but it only boots on my 16GB RAM version, not the 32GB board. I think RKDevTool or SDDiskTool changed something.

Any help in restoring my OrangePi 5 Plus 32GB board to boot will be appreciated.

Great work. would love to get the password.

Hey there, Iā€™d like to try the Android image on my 5b, could I please get the password? Thanks in advance!

@mo123 Many thanks! I set everything up, and I was able to do 4k120. I set up moonlight without an issue and was able to streak 4k120 av1 at around 10-20ms which frankly is just amazing.

Thanks for your efforts.
I downloaded it. Can you please tell me the password?
Iā€™m curious about the decoding performance.

I would like to try this image. Can I get the password?

@mo123 What is the AI Advanced Display option? I searched Google and couldnā€™t find anything about SVEP Mode or anything similar in Android TV.

Is the HDMI input supposed to have audio? On the Rock 5B+ it doesnā€™t, I know itā€™s not supported perse just asking if itā€™s supposed to have audio.

@rooted
AI Advanced Display is for tablets with built-in screens, I donā€™t even think itā€™s enabled, usable on boards, tv firmware.
I donā€™t have Rock5B+, but think HDMI-IN is supposed to have audio, check stock firmware if it works there.

There is no stock Android for Rock 5B+ so I canā€™t check there, sound does work in Debian however. No big deal as thereā€™s no way to record the input that Iā€™ve found on your ATV build.

Edit
I found the Android build for the Rock 5B+ and sound does work on HDMI input.

Radxa you need to do better with your OS images, they are not straight forward to find and the wiki is just a 404

I need password to decompress

Hi @mo123 - thanks for your hard work on this, could I have the password please?
