RockPi 4 B problems - WiFi, ecoPi Pro case

I have a RockPi 4 B with the M.2 extension board and ecoPi Pro Case. I tried to assemble my kit today and ran into serious issues:

  1. The first major issue is that I can’t close the case with an mSD card in place. The ribbon covers up the mSD slot, so I can’t insert the card after the top is on.

  2. The ribbon doesn’t fit well within the case. I can force the top down on it but part sticks out of the cutout at the bottom of the top. This doesn’t seem like a good idea.

  3. The WiFi seems incredibly weak. I am in the same room as the AP and I couldn’t get a stable connection. 2.4GHz barely worked. 5GHz never connected. I was trying Lakka, so perhaps that has some impact. Other devices work (even without an antenna).

I need to get the case issue settled. Right now, it’s pretty unusable because I can’t have the top on.

I would still like to get a reply on this.

You mean this:

It looks like metal - is it?

How are you mounting the antenna?
It’s never going to be great inside a metal box…
