I’m trying to run rock5 from a sd card, but when the system boots, the computer reboots. I tried several images and changed sd cards. Power 33W.
Rock5 reboot when the system starts
Have you tried the official image https://github.com/radxa-build/rock-5b/releases/download/b39/rock-5b_debian_bullseye_kde_b39.img.xzhttps://github.com/radxa-build/rock-5b/releases/download/b39/rock-5b_debian_bullseye_kde_b39.img.xz, is it still the same? btw, is there any log output?
As far as I know board reboots when:
- there is not enough power, this happens often with cheap phone chargers
- PD charger has slow IC chip to change power mode
Usually fixed 12V charger work with no problems.
Armbian recently changed several options regarding those. They probably want to get fast startup without any additional delays (needed for some power adapters). Maybe some will get up 1-2s faster, but others will just bootloop. I found at least two that worked before and will not just after update. This makes Armbian yet again harder to use by many users who don’t expect disaster straight after update…
BTW: this adapter is working great, You can easily buy that with several plugs for various laptop adapters, they are available on aliexpress at much lower price.
