Rock4D EMMC boot

Hey guys,

i have 2 emmc modules by radxa. (both confirmed working on a 4C+).
unfortunately i cant get the 4D to boot from EMMC.

i noted the hint on the docu page stating, emmc wont work due to the default image on the SPI.
So i erased it via RKDevTools.

After that i tried both emmc with different images(the 4k block size for UFS and the standard 512 image). It won’t boot with any of it.

The blue led stays off when the SPI is empty.
After flashing the img to the SPI again, i tried both again - same result, but the blue led turns on but keeps on (no blinking)

any ideas how to get it too boot from emmc?

For the ROCK 4D with SPI Flash soldered, it can not support eMMC Module because the SPI Flash and eMMC share the same pin. This is what we don’t like for RK3576 and RK3588s and we reported it to Rockchip but they don’t think it’s a problem.

Only the ROCK 4D without on board SPI flash can support eMMC module or UFS module.

Thanks for your reply.

so i either have to get a UFS module with a new UFS to uSD adapter or remove the SPI with my SMD soldering station?
