I am running Ubuntu Server 20.04 with Mate gui, attempting to serve files via Samba. I have done this for years without problems, but suddenly something seems to be in the way and I suspect it is the Ubuntu Server foundation causing the problem. I normally setup Samba servers on Desktop OS Versions (usually Ubuntu or Mint) without problems.
Can anyone give me a hand with this? I’ve gone from “successful for years” to “out of my depth” in a serious hurry.
