Rock PI 4C+ not working since insert eMMC adapter in uSD slot

Hello there,

My new Rock PI won’t start since I inserted the eMMC adapter into the uSD slot to avoid too much eMMC module installation (connectors wear).

It’s like that I broke mechanical switch inside. Please see the short video of the behavior.

Even if I keep it pressed down, no activity (blue led) occur with good eMMC image on.

The board drawn 410mA when no led on and 140mA when I press SD card (with green led on, according to the video). Tried serial debug port but no activity.

Any help?

Thanks

  1. Use a USB A to A cable, connects 4C+ to your PC with the upper USB 3.0 port.
  2. Remove the SD card or eMMC module
  3. Power on the 4C+
  4. Check if there is USB device on the PC(Device Manager under windows or lsusb under Linux.)

Yes I see it as USB device.

I confirm that it’s only SD slot mechanical issue. I have to change SD socket. I ordered some of them.

Meanwhile I inserted a fake SD card to that push on the inside switch. And it works.

Thanks
