I have a 4C with 64Gb eMMC that came with the PENTA SATA kit. I loaded Ubuntu 20.04 onto the eMMC but this did not appear to boot - no IP addr found with nmap that responded to port 22. Lacking a micro HDMI connector, I reloaded the eMMC with Ubuntu 18.04 which also failed to provide port 22. I then scrounged a HDMI connector and saw that the screen was filled with eMMC errors. I could log in but many commands failed to run.
I transferred the eMMC back to the USB adapter, ran fsck and badblocks neither of which showed errors. Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong is it likely that the Rock Pi 4C is faulty?
