Rock Pi 4B boots with GUI but not headless linux (using SD)

The title pretty much says it all.

We are booting fine with the GUI Debian desktop, all systems go.

However, when using the Ubuntu Server (headless) provided radxa the rock pi will not boot. The green light comes on but that’s all we get.

All of this above was done with an SD card.

Today we tried again with emmc and it doesn’t boot.

Thoughts?

I’ve got the same issue. I would use Armbian, but it’s having issues detecting the Intel SSD (works fine with Corsair).

Writing Ubuntu Server to SD works fine, but doesn’t boot as described above. Armbian works perfectly.

Edit: Turns out it does boot, but the SSH server wasn’t added in the iso. So trying to connect from a network looked like it wasn’t booting. After installing openssh-server everything went fine for me.

I have the same problem with Manjaro linux downloaded from radxa links.
Armbian boots fine, everything else not.
