Rock 5B startup stuck with solid green

I have tried numerous power supplies, including 27W RPi, 15W Rpi and various others.

The result is consistent: Green LED on, never changes.

Any hints?

Assume USB-C PD is not working, so DIY fixed voltage 9-20V will work, at least that works for me.

Thanks. The docs do mention 30W minimum for 5B.

Funny enough, with a MacBook Pro 75W adapter the LED still remains solid green.

I may try DIY fixed supply.

75W cannot be used, also the 30W will not be used when you only use an SD-card and nothing in M.2 or USB. Standard USB-C will only do 5V and 3A, so 15W. So your MacBook Pro adapter will not deliver more. Maybe the Radxa adapter will go higher than 3A even if not negotiated via PD or has other timing so it is faster to provide more current. Maybe you must have a certain bootloader version in the SPI so it will work, but that is chicken-egg situation. I don’t know. I actually don’t trust it that it will work and also don’t want mains 230V AC powered, but low voltage 12V DC instead.

You suggest power supply is the issue, but check what the green LED means, maybe info is not there. I know my ROCK5B gets into a boot loop when I connect an RPi5 PSU or a HP laptop PSU that can do up to 45W. LED color changes from green to light blue, I hate that bright LED lights, but the boards are servers so hidden in a box so don’t see it.

I use USB serial console cable to see what is going on, HDMI is not useful for non-Raspberries for boot issues.
