Rock 5b NVMe Soft Raid using m.2 adapter

Has anyone tried an m.2 adapter to connect 2 nvme ssd drives at the same time for rock 5b?

If so, have you tried creating a Soft-Raid setting? And is it even theoretically possible?

While it’s of course possible it’s also rather bad idea because of speed differences,
on A+E slot You have 1x pcie 2.0 line, on bottom it’s 4x 3.0 pcie, meaning that bottom is about 8x faster than the one on top.
Top slot can be switched to native sata port and it’s speed is almost same as 1x pcie 2.0 line. Also You can get cheap A+E card with two multiplexed sata ports or just sata splitter, more drives will share same one sata port. At this speed level there are USB3 ports.

On bottom there are more interesting options. You can get 5-6x sata card which is 2x pcie 3.0 (still half od that port) or just adapter to regular pcie port and some m.2 splitter or mini sas adapter. Also there are some hardware raid cards possible which is even better idea.
