ROCK 5 ITX - DC + PoE doesn't power, doesn't boot (SOLVED)

Just got my ROCK 5 ITX. Connected the “25W PoE+ Module 5514”, plugged Ethernet cable with PoE and nothing. No light, doesn’t turn on.
Decided to remove the PoE Module and connect a 12V 5A DC power supply: nothing.
Even tried to make the contact between the “power button” pins with a screw driver: nothing.

I guess I got a faulty device, or am I missing something?

Hi, Kiram

For the 12V 5A DC power, what is your diameter of the power cord?

For the PoE module powering up, which PoE switch do you use?

Do you have an ATX power? If you plug in the ATX power, the Power LED of ATX will be on.

Hi jack, thank you for your reply.

I’m using a Ubiquiti USW-Enterprise-8-PoE (120W) switch:

I’m not sure about the diameter of the DC power cord. I can see the official Radxa DC power cable diameter in specifications and try to get one exactly alike today.

After testing with power meter, looks like current is going through correctly (please see fotos). But still no boot.

I can also get an ATX power supply today to test, however ideally I need it to be powered by PoE for my setup.

UPDATE1:

Got myself another DC, 12V 5A: nothing.
Got an ATX Power Supply: Blue Light!! However now it’s not booting, absolutely nothing happens.

Pressed Maskrom and connected to Mac via USB and I can find the device at least, need to see what I can do next. Frustrating!

UPDATE2: Success! After making a MicroSD boot disc:

And flashing the OS image:

Everything now works with PoE, DC, and ATX power supplies, and the system boots in 2 seconds. Now I’m wondering, was the internal eMMC corrupted or misconfigured? Or the BIOS/UEFI settings and did flashing the OS image influence it somehow? I’ll test all this next.
