I bought the Rock Pi X when it first came out a couple years ago and then shelved it because I had a massive problem installing Windows display drivers. During that time my screen would flash/blank randomly the entire time and got worse when the CPU was under load so I always figured it was just a problem with Windows. Well I have recently picked it back up as I need a small computer to do some work for my CNC router. That’s when I tried to install Ubuntu and the flashing continued to happen.
Have I had a bad board this entire time or is this a semi-common problem with these? I really only plan on connecting to it via VNC so I’m not as worried about the display but I would like to know if I bought a piece of garbage. I’m gonna say I’m not nearly as impressed with these as I was when I first read about them. The Windows driver support is really the worst.
