Radxa zero won't appear as a USB storage device (eMMC)

I have tried pretty much everything at this stage. Using Windows computer. No matter in what order I flash, erase eMMC or whatever, radxa won’t pop up as a USB device. Please, help.

Try eMMC not detected by radxa-zero-erase-emmc.bin or rz-udisk-loader.bin

The simplest way I found is that

  1. follow the instruction on
    https://wiki.radxa.com/Zero/dev/maskrom#Enable_maskrom
  2. do not download the loaders listed on the page
  3. instead click the “Radxa website” link above the list of loaders
  4. download u-boot-2021.01-00042-g1e3a71b1dd.bin

After flashing it to the board, the board will disconnect automatically and reconnect as an USB drive.

after flashing u-boot-2021.01-00042-g1e3a71b1dd.bin my eMMC appeared only once, the trick to see it as a USB was to use rufus image flasher.
