@Mara what version of Zero did you get as my 512mb has a different wifi/bt chip than what is working on my 2gb Zero.

I will be downloading that ASAP as been really impressed with Twister but for me need a lighter ‘server’ image really as the desktop is really bloat for use I have.

PS I have been wondering about an OC but looking at the voltage table the pmic reg looks like its pretty much at the max which has surprised me.
So maybe freq can be increased as very little headroom with volts but also someone was mentioning about low power use so also maybe a underclock?

Saying this as with Slarm can you specify dtsi in some form of easy config?

PS is it just me struggling with SD boot as can get my eMMC version running but still struggling with SD but will give it another try.

my version is 4/32 wifi ap6256
dtsi

regarding u-boot, until I rewrote the bootloader in eMMC from the card, it started.

Yeah still puzzled at sd only versions but have eMMC one that i will try, many thanks.

Cool is it possible to have a config with different DTS /DTSI say with different clock speeds?
Also should the ethernet be removed as looks like its a remnant from the s905x2 dts original

I shall have a look at slackware as it will be a 1st even though its been around for a long time.
I quite like arch and it surprises me manjaro doesn’t trickle down but support is quite limited unlike what you guys seem to be doing with Slarm

just make patches with the necessary settings and apply during assembly (let’s turn it off as .disabled)

there is a working version of U-Boot 2021.10-rc1-00269-g8f07f5376a2-dirty (Aug 07 2021 - 23:34:58 +0300) radxazero
built based on https://github.com/angerman/meson64-tools.git
and writing to eMMC

I prob could mara but was thinking firstly to use the ‘herd’ so we share the same and those who are only comfortable with a config declaration can also use.

I will have a look at Slarm as going to redo some benchmarks as Twister OS almost filled the whole 16GB eMMC.
Twister OS is 5.12.0 and works with the AP6256 and guess must be using a revision but can work with a usb ethernet I have for now.

I much prefer working with a server base to make a JEOS for whatever application I am working with so will give it a download and give Slarm a go.

for wifi to work I will make legacy on kernel 5.10.y, also add crux-arm it is minimal.

Cool maybe for the best as even though it works on 5.12 after a apt-get update (think it was that) I get an error message about wifi settings even though wifi seems to work.
5.10 was the last LTS so makes total sense.

You prob has it somewhere but what user/password for xcfe ?

the root user will ask you to create a password at login.

I have just got the login helper on screen without a default user.
its asking for user / password.

tried root/password
root/blank

thanks, this part needs to be tested, try to go to the console CTRL+ALT+F1 and log in there, after setting the password, try to go to xfce

Cool apols Mara as total noob with slackware I don’t even know what the package manager is?

But can say wifi is working even though used usb ethernet

Treat me kindly  how do I install glmark2 or is it a compile job?

As see what it posts.

Also its up to date mainline which is great.
I have a blank eMMC with the bootloader and it loaded from SD.
Have you managed a SD only version as haven’t had chance to test yet.

I corrected the transfer script to eMMC in the current version, it does not support transfer.

regarding packages
pkgtools
slackpkg

I am going to hate this for a short while until I get up to speed.
I know what I want to do but don’t know the command but things look good

Whats the slackware method to add a user to sudoers?

lols apols your going to hate this as much as me!

usually in /etc/sudoers.d/users.conf

Just SU and edit with nano then

PS its telling me current is the dev version with slackpkg

Is that correct?

When selecting a mirror

yes it is current which is constantly updated
