Hi, I’m planning to buy a bunch of Zero 3W for my project. However, I’m not sure if the Wi-Fi speed is fast enough for my needs.
Can someone perform a Wi-Fi speed test on their Zero 3W and post the result here? This would be a very big help to me in deciding whether to buy this or if I need to buy the Radxa Rock 3A + A8 WiFi Card instead.
Thank you so much!
we tested the Zero 3W with Radxa WIFI D8 on board using iperf. the list below is the result.
2.4G :
Ceramic antenna:38.7Mbits/sec |67.2Mbits/sec
External antenna:43.4Mbits/sec |69.5Mbits/sec
5G
Ceramic antenna:210Mbits/sec|198 Mbits/sec
External antenna:223Mbits/sec |217Mbits/sec

Hi @Peter.Wang,
Thanks! I have a follow-up question: I saw that OpenWrt supports Zero 3W. Does this mean that hostapd works out of the box? I assume it does, but I could be wrong.
It’s one of the requirements for my project.
Thank you very much for your help. I appreciate it.
I was not able to make hostapd work on the rasdxa zero 3w
That’s sad. It is almost the perfect SBC for my project.
Thank you!
hostapd is just a software conf, maybe you can refer to https://docs.radxa.com/en/rock5/rock5b/radxa-os/ap
My 2.4G and 5G test results are basically the same, 40-80Mbps
I’ve tryied thoes:
- Switch onboard antenna and external antenna (rsetup also configured)
- Switch SBC’s own 5G AP and home router 5G wifi
- Put the phone close to the SBC and turn off other wireless routers in the room
I don’t know where the problem is, 5G performance should not be like this, this 40-80Mbps speed is difficult to meet my needs for building NAS Please help me.
