Radxa Debian: X server restart loop

On my Rock 5B, trying to run the Radxa Debian image will work up until it’s time to start the graphical desktop. At that point, the X server starts and immediately exits. The X.log file doesn’t show any errors aside from one module failing to load, but I think it’s an optional one. The latest Armbian Jammy image runs fine.

I’d like to run the Radxa build, if only so that it will boot from NVMe (or, in the alternative, get Armbian to boot from the NVMe). Is there something basic I’m missing?

The issue is that debian has released an updated xserver package for a security issue. You can downgrade your Xorg install by running sudo apt install xserver-xorg-core=2:1.20.11-1 which should give you the rockchip patched X server and you should be able to get into X again - i did have to reboot, a restart of lightdm didn’t work.
