Just assembled Quad SATA Hat with 4 2.5 drives with RPi4.
Will not boot SD card when case cover is on. Take cover off, boots just fine.
Checked SD card, no issues. Cannot locate any shorting, missing components or misapplied components.
Followed directions to the letter.
Looking for suggestions on where to find what is impeding the SD card to boot.
Is it truly not booting or is there just no image displayed?
The mini-hdmi cable I have will not fully connect with the ports on my RPI4 when the case is on.
Maybe try connecting over SSH with the cover on?
By “no boot” it means no display and when I check the Pi status LED, it stays on red the entire time.
The Ethernet status lights up.
I took the same SD card and moved to another standalone RPi4 to make sure it boots and it does.
So I took the NAS metal cover off, and it booted normally (Raspian).
Put the metal NAS cover back on, no display, status red on the Pi.
It is working now. I put the case back on and SSH to the host and it worked.
As a prior poster said, the microHDMI cable cant get fully seated into the Pi video port with the case on.
Looking for a microHDMI cable with a longer stem now.
