Powering the Rock Pi X from GPIO pins

I presume that it’s possible to power the Rock Pi X from the 40-pin GPIO pins, as that’s how the PoE hat works, is that correct?

I assume that it would use the 5v pins 2 or 4 and 6 for ground

How much current is required at 5v to run the Pi X stably? I see that Radxa don’t recommend using a 5v USB power supply, so how does it cope using the GPIO pins?

Thanks

Alex

For USB C, we don’t recommend 5V power adapter. But you can power from +5V gpio pins, the current should be 2.5A or more.

Thanks @jack

I’ll give that a go

Does anyone know where to get a GPIO adapter, like a raspberry pi hat that would take a DC input (12v preferably) and convert it to the 2.5A at 5v required?
I’d rather not simply wire a 5v power supply directly to the GPIO pins.

Thanks
