Powering Rock Pi 5B

I read somewhere there is a bug with PD power chip.
It does not boot for me with PD power source. (Restarts while starting)

It boots for me with 5V, 2A and loads desktop. But when I try to do something like open browser it crashes.

I suspect there 10 watts is not enough.

But what should I do? Should I solder my type C connctor that sends 20v without PD chip? or 5v with 4A?
I guess in most cases it requires custom soldering. Right? Is there any reference like wiki?

Here you can find more info about this.

The problem is that the PD negotiation is done by the kernel, and if the kernel doesn’t load fast enough most power supplies go in timeout and shutdown.
So you either buy the official power supply or one of these which should work fine, or use a fixed 12-20V power supply.

I had an AllNet 65W PD powersupply and it kind of worked, it had some problem booting after a reboot but it always worked when I reconnected the cable. In the end I bought a cheap DC barrel to USB C adapter (this) and now I’m using it with a 12V 2A power supply I had at home from some old appliance.
