Penta SATA HAT Power Regulator

Hi,

I’m playing around with a Penta SATA HAT board for a project, and was wondering what the specs are for the 5V regulator? Specifically:

  • What is the rated current for the regulator?
  • What is the rated voltage for the regulator?
  • Is there a schematic for how power is distributed on the board?

The second question is of interest since I have an existing 15V power rail, it would be great to reuse this. The SSDs I have are confirmed to only use 5V power (Samsung QVO).

Thanks

In case anyone comes across this topic down the line, I can confirm that the Penta SATA hat regulates a 15V supply with no issues.

The 12V rail is connected to the SATA power connectors, and so if you use a higher voltage input then that will appear unregulated on the connector., however most SSD’s only use the 5V lines and so run just fine.

In my case the Samsung 870 QVO SSD’s are running perfectly with this setup.
