O6N issues (BIOS settings reset, pcie connectivity)

@hipboi Testing o6n i saw three disturbing issues.

  1. PCIe issues - No matter what i do i cannot get dGPU to be detected in bottom m.2 slot (this is one using x8 GPP pcie complex i believe), where as when connected to top one gpu can be detected and working.
  2. dGPU is not detected at all after power loss (unplug cable from board, or hard reset via 5sec pwr key hold), need to boot os fully and do restart, or poweroff and start again using iGPU to detect dGPU again
  3. No BIOS settings retention after power loss. Bios settings reverts to default values when disconnected from power. Pluging in RTC battery didn’t help (i’m using battery compatible with rock 5b as i have one laying around) - Faulty RTC battery, seems to be working with other one

Are you aware of this issues? If so, is there any progress or timeframe where we can expect them fixed?

Which BIOS version you are using?

I have tried few (1.0.0-3, 1.0.0-5, 1.0.0-8), currently 1.1.0-1,

Additionaly i observed bios options to act finicky, some settings have saved, some not after reset with power key (ufs remained always off after change, but pcie changes reseted itself, i have enabled dti and disabled one of x1 lane, bt it came back up after hard reset)

BIOS is configured to reset to default when RTC power loss is detected. Please check the battery voltage,

The UI tends to lag behind the user input. In any case please don’t reset with power key after making the change. You should go to BIOS front page and select Continue. It should tell you that it will need to reset to apply settings. After it reset it should be saved.

BIOS retention is fixed by replacing RTC battery - so it was hw issue

I was unable to reproduce finicky behavior with bios settings, i always exit bios via “continue” button so this was not the case, most likely some combination of parameters change with multiple save via f10 or something ?

Do You have any information on dgpu status for o6n, or any coming bios releases ?
I see some forum members had luck with runing i.ex. polaris gpu on o6 with some older bios (system ready 9.0.0 ?)
But as of now none of available BIOS for o6n seems to work - unable to get gpu working on primary m.2 slot which is using x8 interface, only secondary m.2 , tested all bioses except 1.0.0-2, and from tested gpu only HD4xxx and GT2xx seems to work somewhat ok, all other crushes after driver loading (rx5xx, hd5xxx, hd7xxx, gt5xx)
