Nvme

There is a bug in the Samsung NVMe temperature reporting where a slight temperature increase can be interpreted as a sudden precipitous increase to a high temperature. While it is only a very brief signal that immediately returns to normal temperatures, it does trip the warning messages in disk monitoring software. My only solution in my Windows machines was to mount a large, fan cooled copper heatsink on top of them. There have been no sudden overheating warnings since.

But I plugged this nvme to jetson nx and there was no overheating unloading. It will automatically umount on this rock5b, I touched it, the nvme temperature is really high.

maybe your rock 5b is broken try it wth a different ssd but backup any data on that ssd that is important to you

The anomalous temperature spike triggers an alert message in the Samsung Magician and Hard Disk Sentinel windows monitoring software (although not seen in AIDA64 or Argus). It’s not real as I’ve verified with an IR scanner. It’s like the overeager Ensign in the movie The Bedford Incident when it’s safe (and much better) to ignore. Instead, you definitely have a hardware problem unique to mounting it in the Rock5b M.2 slot. Leaving the NVMe in the Rock5b may damage it permanently.

See above response.

Can you do a NVMe SSD stress test on the NX? Booting with NVMe SSD is different from using it for data storage.
