After installing the cifs-utils, I still can’t see the network on the desktop in the file manager.
Solution: The PCManFM File Manager is missing a needed package, which I installed afterwards.
sudo apt update
sudo apt install gvfs-backends
Now you only have to check the network in PCManFM, in the Preferences, under Layout, then everything should work.
