Network ADB in Android?

Hello, is Android debug bridge over network supported? This should be the “Wait for debugger” option under Settings -> Developer options, but for some reason I have this item greyed out.

Not quite sure which of these it’s supposed to be:

But I have noticed Internet adb option now under Device Preferences → Developer Options (not sure if it appeared or was there before). Enabling it does enabled ADB over IP.
