Well after weeks and weeks of reading and searching… I am stuck.
I cannot find a definitive , complete guide for installing MRAA into Andriod 9 on the rockpi-4.
There are a lot of guides for Linux and some for other Android variants…
I am having a lot of difficulty trying to install MRAA on my Rockpi-4 with Android 9 -tablet version.
I tried the MRAA.aar and the MRAA-example with android studio but I just get ‘gradle’ version related errors which I cannot completely resolve.
I have successfully built a demo ‘hello world’ app using Android Studio , but no luck with MRAA.

Where does one actually place the script that configures each GPIO component?
