Kernel Modules on the Armbian Image

I want to run Docker on the Armbian Image from the Download section. It’s the one that supports NVMe drives at the moment. But it does not come with the kernel modules by default. What would be the best way to get the modules working on that image?

Hi, Art

All the images released by us supports NVMe, including the new android tv. Docker should be supported on arm64 ubuntu server image. For Armbian, the issue is kernel update is hosted on the Armbian apt server. If you want to use Armbian, you can download latest from their website. It has docker support by default.

Unfortunately, the current armbian img 4.20y randomly stops booting, sometime after omv install and sometimes just randomly. unlike the img from your site. I don’t know what broke but a there is no usable armbian that work for more than one boot

I think you’re in the wrong place. Radxa doesn’t offer a 4.20.x kernel for download at the moment, also the Armbian available here has a 4.4.x kernel. And the kernels offered on the Armbian page for the RockPi 4 are WIP.

But I like the Armbian Boot Images, even though the RockPi aren’t that good right now, they will get better soon. I have Armbian running on almost all my SBCs.

Well that’s true, as a newbie I just get it wrong most of the times ::frowning:

Don’t let it bother you. The fact that there are two different sources for Armbian on RockPi has caused confusion several times.
