[ISSUE][REQUEST] Type-C DP Display on Rock 5B

Hi there, I am using a Rock 5B with the latest debian bullseye stable operating system installed. I am interested in enabling DP output on my Rock 5B. To achieve this, I have configured the board to provide external 5V supply to a Type-C port, which can be used as DP output. I have tried various ROMs, but none of them have DP working by default.

I followed an online guide that recommended updating the firmware to the latest version and editing the extlinux file for “usbcore.autosuspend=-1”, but this did not resolve the issue. I also attempted to debug the problem by following the official RK3588 DisplayPort guide from rockchip.

My hardware setup includes a 1080p VGA monitor, a Type-C to VGA adapter, and a 5V external power supply. Can you please provide me with any help or guidance on how to get DP working on my Rock 5B?

I have tried official debian, armbian, manjaro-test, rebornOS and openfyde with typec to VGA adapter. But none of those OS’s has DP output working.

Is this a problem with the rk3588 dw-dp IP ? because it does work with CDN-dp on rock pi 4b.

I installed Botacera and there the Typce-C DP does work, but the HDMI0 & HDMI1 output does not work :).

I tried it with a USB-C dockingstation having powerdelivery through it, but also HDMI. The display worked and sound worked.
