Introduce ROCK 5B - ARM Desktop level SBC

when did you place your preorder

i think for your privacy you should remove the code

Jan 10. I would assume I will be the first batch but since Ameridroid has nothing to do with the shipping and Radxa has been screwing Ameridroidā€™s customers over in favor of allnet I have 0 confidence theyā€™re going to do this right. We already have missed the end of October shipping promise.

When i receive it?

Ordered from allnet on May 2nd, received the email yesterday, November 7th, and received a shipping notice today, November 8th.

I have no idea who this is shipped with since the tracking number doesnā€™t seem to work anywhere, but itā€™s only been a day so Iā€™ll give it some time. I assume since I chose the cheapest tier itā€™ll be transferred to USPS at some point for final delivery.

I originally ordered the 8GB variant but changed my mind and allnet adjusted my order to the 16GB model in September.

Yeah I got this scan code that I couldnā€™t work out and a tracking link that didnā€™t seem to work.
It was fairly fast after that maybe not much more than a week, but how to find where and when seemed an act of faith.
You would seem no different but once you do get that notice things are relatively rapid.

There must must be a mistake, no matter Allnet or Ameridroid, the Jan order should be fulfilled already. Did you get email from Ameridroid? I think you need to provide a contact phone number for the shipping.

Jack, I cancelled my order from ameridroid yesterday. I ordered in January. It seems like ameridroid customers (and ameridroid, from their replies) getting screwed. I talked to ameridroid my order was surely not send yet. I cant use promo code now and all the wait was useless. Now I bought 3 SBC full price at allnet. Very unsatisfying.

Edit2: Almost everything has now been cleared up for me. (Thank you very much allnet & radxa-Team!)
Iā€™m now looking forward laying my hands on this nice sbc :star_struck:

I actually emailed Ameridroid at the end of September to confirm they had my order and everything needed since I did not get the phone number email. They said they had everything needed, including my phone number, and that I was the front of the line and the order would be shipping direct from the manufacturer.

The latest update: We aim to be fully transparent. At the same time, we need to be mindful of not oversharing information we are not authorized to share.

Iā€™ve had the chance to communicate with Tom (Radxa) and lay out our concerns.

The factory shipped us most of the 16GB ROCK 5B units that have not been sent to our customers yet. They shipped them to us via UPS Air two days ago. Hopefully they wonā€™t get stuck in customs entering the US, as happens sometimes (letā€™s all keep our fingers crossed). Our current staff can ship approx. 250 packages on a normal day (and even more when they are extra focused as Iā€™m sure they will be), so it wonā€™t take long to get caught up once all the units arrive here. We suspect weā€™ll have all the 16GB units shipped within two days of the first shipment arriving at our warehouse.

The factory stated they will be shipping us the remaining units in the next few days (4GB, 8GB and the rest of the 16GB units). Shortly following that, they should be sending the accessories.

We found that the factory didnā€™t ship the orders strictly in the sequence they were received. We suspect they grouped orders by region and number of units ordered in an attempt to have a more efficient fulfillment process for those orders. This resulted in some people early in our queue not yet having their order shipped due to their location or number of units ordered. When we receive the items, they will ship strictly in the sequence the orders were received.

We apologize for the issues. We took a gamble on having the factory ship them in order to reduce wait times. It worked for some of our customers, but overall, we find we need to be fully in control of the shipping process to meet our expectations (and hopefully yours as well). To top it off, it ended up costing roughly twice as much as we collected from our customers to have the factory ship them than to ship them ourselves. Factoring in the $50 discount code, the extra shipping and shipping insurance costs, and import costs, weā€™ve ended up losing money on many of the orders.

We sincerely apologize for the additional wait times some of you are experiencing. I also need to apologize to our staff for having to deal with the 5% or so of our pre-order customers who contacted us who were understandably frustrated at the chaos and confusion. I think some ā€œhazard payā€ is warranted. Thanks to all of you for your understanding and patience while we get this sorted out.

it is most of the time better if you have it in controll

Thank you for taking the time to research this and post the updates. Full disclosure and communication helps manage our expectations for sure.

Ordered near the end of January and the only communication Iā€™ve gotten is an email detailing them shipping direct from factory. Nothing about my order directly. Guess Iā€™ll be messaging them.

Edit: My order had a label created 10/28. Itā€™s en route to me and I should see it within the next few days. Ordered 01/23.

Letā€™s hope that they were honest with you as the previous update we got assured us all the units would be shipped before the end of October, which was a lie.

Iā€™ll be expecting my 8GB order to ship within the next few weeks, after that I might cut my losses.

Just about the same here in terms of dates
I am in the US and I have the route app installed on my Android device
route automatically recognized the shipment and it says waiting for ETA
but I just placed the order today , if you have the route app it should automatically populate the order and get you tracking , amazing app but also pretty scary how it knows so much so fast , it almost immediately knew and even knows what I ordered and has pics of the items and everything!
itā€™s really scary how it knows so much

shipping from allnet was rather steep at $35 almost wipes out the discount
also the $5 I paid for the coupon was not applied to the total as I was told
so it was -$50 not -$55, -$50 for the coupon plus - $5 I paid for the preorder coupon
so really only $45 off , then -$35 for shipping
is only like I saved $10 LOL
also considering I spent more $$ on EMMC, EMMC reader, fan ,and WIFI module
you think they would have a cheaper shipping option when you spend over a certain amount , $35 shipping from China is unheard of unless you are buying from Alibaba or something, usually Ebay and Aliexpress has really cheap shipping rates
I would have rather picked a slow cheaper option as I am not in a rush.

I had a look at route app. I wanted to see the ā€œmagicā€ but it seems it just parses your emails for tracking numbers right? I think its just querying services like https://www.17track.net/en (best tracking page in my opinion).

yes that would make sense and from a previus order from ameridroid i even recieved a link to 17track and congrats on the 1000 post of this thread
