Does the board have 2x CSI connectors as mentioned here https://linuxgizmos.com/rock-5-sbc-features-octa-core-rk3588-16gb-ram-and-triple-displays/
Or is it one MIPI-CSI and one MIPI-DSI?

Itās 1x MIPI CSI 4 lanes that can be split into two 2-lanes MIPI CSI.
Will it be possible to do 4K editing on this board?
Picked up a DJI drone the other day but noticed my MBP did not have the horsepower to even play the video video content H265(mov) or H264(mp4), even less for editing.
If yes, 16Gb ram i recomended(or 8Gb will perform equal)?
Page 10: H.265 HEVC/MVC Main10 L6.1 : 8K@60fps (7680x4320)
These days i believe almost all fairly new SOCs support hardwareacceleration when it comes to decoding H.265 and such.
In case anyone is wondering about RK3588S real world performance. Eta Prime just posted a YouTube video testing beta Android 12 ( no Google Play ) gaming on a Firefly SBC.
Are there any power consumption estimates for Idle and Load?
Hoping for a compact case
Not much info but with the above ETA hated the heat from the RK3399 and is all praise for the RK3588s as the active heatsinks are pretty small but if you where to go passive then as in there nature pretty huge usually.
Guess you will have to check what you think
I have a wifi 6/AX card ,itās an m.2 ax201 with E key
will this board support it and are there 2 m.2 lot on this board?
can I still use M.2 SSD if I have M.2 wifi card installed ?
and does the $5 for the preorder coupon go toward the final purchase price of the board?
what are the chances of seeing a Batocera build or recall box for this board?
Ameridroid is listing the Rock 5 Model B at higher prices than what is listed here before the $50 off coupon.
4gb - $144.95
8gb - $169.95
16gb - $219.95
Are these prices correct or should I go with the other distributor?
They also need to eat

Yes, of course.

Yes.

We are not sure of this yet.
Emuelec seems to always put out an image for the Zero amlogic based boards and not sure if there is a specific Rockchip version that is the same where really much under the hood is Batocera.
With the RK3588 having such a strong GPU I doubt you will be able to keep the emulator guys away from it as for them its an amazing platform.
You have already seen some of the reviews and emulator results on what are very early builds, but with just being a community member I would say its near certain it will attract a collection of emulator images.
I will certainly try to port Batocera/Recalbox on Rockpi5.
Itās not very complicated, itās just the uboot and gpu blobs that needs to be well packaged/available.
May and not yet available from ameridroid.
I think first half of Juneā¦
They must be eating pretty well.
I see this rather as a compliment towards the Rockchip. You develop an awesome SOC, you should be rewarded for it. A good example is the whole case with Intel vs AMD and Nvidia vs AMD. Intel has robbed us of our money for a decade without really giving anything in return for it in case of cores or performance. Nvidia had done it a bit better, but still also relaxing and robbing consumers of their money. Now AMD in both cases has come back very hard that many people these days want an all AMD build including myself. I am btw a Linux users (Nvidia driversā¦s**kā¦BIG TIME). Better have AMDās opensource drivers than proprietary drivers of Nvidia that donāt even work.
So yeah big thumbs up for Rockhip as well as for Radxa for providing such an outstanding IO. btw, i am planning to order 2x 16GB boards. One for indeed emulation and the other as a lowpower server to replace my Raspberry Pi 4 (8GB).
Can you clarify the PoE+?
Can you power the Rock 5B using PoE+ āout of the boxā or does it require an additional PoE hat or other add-on?
The information here in the forums implies that PoE is included āout of the boxā, but the writeup on the WiKi specifies power from the USB-C or from GPIO pins 2&4. There is no mention of PoE.
I know that the WiKi is work-in-progress and it may be covered in a later update.
Really looking forward to the release of this board. Any feedback appreciated.
Can dual-boot Android and Linux on Rock5B?
Any ETA when Rock5 will be available on allnet? I need several things and now waiting for Rock5 to complete my order. Are those days or maybe months?
1000000 dollar question. Iām wondering the same thing myself
