Installing Wifi Module 8

I have some questions caused by the lack of documentation about the wifi module.
Hopefully you guys can help me.

  1. The Wifi module has two antenna plugs labeled 1 and 2. The wifi module comes with two antennas labeled WIFI6-L-V02 and WIFI6-R-V01. As they have different lengths I would assume one is for 2.4 GHz and one for 5 GHz. I couldn’t find any information which plug on the wifi module is used for which frequency or if it doesn’t matter.
  2. The open antenna end is on a 3M sticky paper. Where do you guys glue it on the Rock5 or are you routing it outside of a case (if non metal) and into an antenna plastic dummy?
  3. As I’m using the original radxa metal case I have to put the antennas outside. But why has the original case no holes foreseen for this? Makes no sense to keep the antennas inside of a metal case.

Thanks!

Same Here. Any Help?

All I can say is that it really pissed me off when I was trying to install the antennas -the damn leads are too short. One broke off and the other wouldn’t snap on the module. If you look at the shapes of the stick ons they are sized to the in facing side of the front panel. They do not go on the outside but on the inside of the front panel since they are made of plastic.

thank you both for the picture.
Still wondering how good the Wifi signal strength will be when we only have one direction for the signal as the top and bottom of the case is metal.
