How to install debian linux on eMMC

Just

radxa-zero-debian-buster-xfce4-arm64-20220126-0507-mbr.img.xz

I downloaded the file, flash it on the sd card, and booted it, but it comes out like the attached picture, and only loopback comes out when I enter the nmcli command.

When the Wi-Fi was working normally after rebooting yesterday, wlan0 was also released.

While working on emmc, did you touch the board yourself and damage the board?

Or I think the power of this power adapter I’m using may be too strong.

It says 5v3a output.

Now I’m trying to use the latest version of ubuntu.

ok, I did install this version and all is working well. including wifi.

Note:
Im using Windows 11 to install debian on zero.

Steps:

  1. Loaded in Maskrom Mode
  2. cleared eMMC;

radxa-zero-erase-emmc

  1. Disconnected the zero and connected in maskrom mode again.

  2. mount zero as flash drive

rz-udisk-loader

  1. Used balenaEtcher to flash to EMMC that i prepared

booted right away…not sure about the power …mine is connected directly to my laptop’s usb port or i have an external powerbank that i connect…i ididnt have issue with power…

After uploading android-bootloader.bin yesterday, there is no response to loading the rz-udisk-loader.bin file.

My PC is Windows 10.

And now, the problem is more serious than emmc booting where wifi is not working because of what the problem is now.

I don’t know what the hell is about.

I searched for related information and worked on it at the forum, but I don’t know the answer.

Can you use radxa-zero-erase-emmc before the udisk loader ? it should get rid of everything
and what about the drivers for usb ? maybe installing them again might work ?

zadig

Before raising android-bootloader.bin, it was possible to enter usb mode, and the radxa-zero-erase-emmc.bin file still seems to be operating normally.

Through the zadig program, the driver worked normally in maskrom mode, and when it says usb download gadget, something seems to be wrong with the driver.

By the way, is this problem related to the wifi problem when booting with an sd card?

Im not sure. I hope someone with more knowledge will give an answer…I had some other problems when i first got the zero. and it is frustrating for sure.

I did not have any wifi problem with my 64gb version of zero.
But i got recently 128gb verion and im having wifi problems…still working on it and trying to understand.
Because both boards are 4gb, which means they both should have same module.

2GB or 4GB memory, it comes with **AP6256** module

512MB or 1GB memory, it comes with **AP6212** module

Oh, thank you.

I hope the problem will be solved well.

I’ve been rebooting a few times, but now Wi-Fi is connected again.

I can’t check what kind of problem this is.

But fortunately, the board doesn’t seem to be completely broken.

No problem, i wish i could help further. I will keep an eye on this topic for sure.
I dont think board would be broken that easily. because form my experience it is very durable:) - i do use it a bit rough to be honest.

I bought Raspberry Pie Zero before, but it suddenly broke down, so I felt a little scared to use a very small SBC like Zero.

Since the Wi-Fi is connected, I’m updating the apt. Even after rebooting, I hope it stays normal, but if I reboot, the Wi-Fi will die again.

unfortunate that Rasp zero had broke down…
yes let me know if it stays on after reboot + update…

As expected, it’s not working.

On the contrary, new errors came out in dmesg.

In conclusion, it seems to be the same as the error I posted above.

I’m wondering if zero has a problem ? maybe ?

I don’t know what’s wrong with me.
The 1gb product was normal.

2gb products are really hard to use properly.

well, i have 2 (two) 4gb versions and one of them is giving me Wi-Fi problems for sure.

I think there’s something wrong.

I don’t know if there’s a manufacturing problem… Or I don’t know what it is.

I don’t know if this is the way,

sudo rmmod brcmfmac

After entering it…

sudo modprobe brcmfmac

The Wi-Fi setting comes back to life when I type in.

I think I’ll make it into a .sh file and put it in so that it can work when I boot.

update
oh.
I wrote brcm as bcrm. I fixed it!
