Hello Everyone
For those of you looking to get rid of the battery icon in Ubuntu Desktop it has to do with the upower service. Attempts to remove the package will break the ubuntu desktop and any attempts to disable it will simply result in the service being active after a reboot.
Simply run the command sudo systemctl mask upower.service this will disable the service keeping it disabled and keeping the battery icon from being displayed.
You don’t need to do this but I thought I would share.
