I’m trying to figure out how the power gets from the POE+ HAT to the X4 (or any other board, frankly). It’s not clear from the documentation. Is there a cable or connector to transfer the power? Similarly, how is the POE+ switch connected to the HAT? I don’t see an Ethernet connection on the HAT either.
How does the X4 connect to the POE+ HAT?
The X4 PoE+ board has an addition 2 pin header that lines up with the power header on the X4 board. The power pins on the X4 board are right next to the USB-C connector.
If using the old PoE+ (non X4). You have to use Phoenix to Dupont wires. The Phoenix end goes into the green connector on the PoE+ hat and the Dupont end goes in the power pins of the X4.
Hope this helps
This picture explain how the power goes to the X4:
The PoE switch will feed 48V power to the RJ45 of the X4, which will go to the PoE header up right. The PoE+ HAT will convert 48V to 12V to power the X4.
